Quaternary Animals

This category denotes animals from the Quaternary period; typically defined as the time period that first began about 2.58 million years ago and is currently ongoing. The most recent Ice Age occurred then, as glaciers covered huge parts of the planet Earth. Homo sapiens evolved during this time, and by the end of the period humans could be found on nearly every part of the planet.
