Extinct is one of five conservation statuses in Zoo Tycoon 2. It was first introduced in Zoo Tycoon 2: Dino Danger Pack and is also available in Zoo Tycoon 2: Extinct Animals. Animals classified as Extinct have been wiped out and there are no living members of the species or subspecies left.
When an extinct animal is born, a balloon bouquet is received.
Zoo Tycoon 2 is the only game to have an Extinct conservation status so far in the franchise.
