The False Killer Whale (Pseudorca crassidens) is a large cetacean. It is an adoptable animal in Zoo Tycoon 2.

Description[]

The false killer whale, despite its name, is a member of the oceanic dolphin family. Named after the fact that its skull closely resembles that of the Orca (Killer Whale), it is a slender-bodied cetacean with an elongated head; although sizes can vary, the largest individuals can reach up to 6m (20ft) long. Individuals can live over 60 years, although females generally have a longer lifespan.

Found in oceans worldwide, with a preference for tropical coastal waters, the false killer whale is a highly social animal, living in pods of up to 50 individuals. It is also known to form mixed-pods with other species of dolphins such as the Bottlenose Dolphin and has been documented deterring predators, assisting in birth and engaging in sexual activity with them. Conversely, the false killer whale may also hunt other dolphins, although its main diet consists of squid and large fish.
