Freshwater (misspelled in-game as Fresh Water) refers to any body of water that is not an ocean, sea, or bay. Fresh water bodies are generally inland, with common examples being lakes and rivers. The pH of fresh water can very greatly depending on the circumstances. In Zoo Tycoon, the only animal that lives in the fresh water biome is the Loch Ness Monster.
