Gifts come in a variety of forms in Zoo Tycoon 2, those being: Backpack, Hat, Hip Pack, puppet, Shirt, Stuffed Animal, Toy (exclusive to the emperor penguin), and Caveman Club. They can be purchased from gift carts or the gift shop.

Trivia[]
- The emperor penguin is the only animal with the toy gift type in Zoo Tycoon 2.
- The quagga and the killer penguin are the only animals in the game without a corresponding gift, the quagga uses the common zebra Shirt as its gift while the killer penguin has no equivalent gift.
- Guests may be seen interacting with puppets they purchase, however, this animation is only limited to the Lion, Reticulated Giraffe, Komodo Dragon and African Wild Dog puppets.
- The Caveman Club is a secret gift item in the Extinct Gift Cart and Gift Shop. This item can only be purchased if a guest talks to a Caveman.
- The Black Leopard Backpack is supposed to have a reflective texture to it, however this was lost when the gift was converted to a bfb model in later expansions.
