The Great Barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda) is a mid-sized bony fish. It is an adoptable animal in Zoo Tycoon.

The great barracuda is the largest of 28 species of barracuda, a group of predatory fish identified by their elongated bodies and powerful jaws. Large individuals can reach up to 3m (9.8ft) long, although most are smaller. Its head is pike-like in shape and features fang-like teeth that vary greatly in size. Like many marine animals, it displays counter-shading, with a blue-gray back and a silvery-white coloration below. This acts as camouflage in the open ocean.
The great barracuda is found in tropical and subtropical oceans around the world and as adults, they are typically solitary, although younger individuals may form schools. Like all species of barracuda, it is an active hunter, ambushing and chasing other fish, often as large as themselves, at speeds of up to 43km/h (27mph) in short bursts. Barracudas have been known to attack humans, but these are rare and are most likely a case of mistaken identity. The great barracuda can live for up to 14 years.

The great barracuda is an adoptable animal in Zoo Tycoon. It is a downloadable animal that can be acquired with the Marine Mania expansion pack.
Like all Marine Mania animals, the great barracuda is an Aquatic animal. It is depicted as sociable and requires at least four individuals in its tank to be happy. The great barracuda requires a deep tank of at least five units and a large amount of foliage and some rocks. Its favorite foliage is Sea Grass however it can tolerate a large amount of other marine plants, including the Feather Duster Worm, Sargassum, Fire Coral, Kelp, Sea Stars, and Sea Lettuce.
