The Grey Crowned Crane (Balearica regulorum) is a large African bird. It is an adoptable animal in Zoo Tycoon: The Board Game.
Description[]
Zoo Tycoon: The Board Game[]
The Grey Crowned Crane was originally going to be a Co-Species for Zoo Tycoon: The Board Game but was cut after its real life conservation status dropped from Vulnerable to Endangered during the Kickstarter Campaign. It was later replaced by the Fischer's Lovebird.
The grey crowned crane would later be readded to the game in the New Shores expansion pack after six enclosure tiles were cut to make room for the Chinese Giant Salamander and Straw-Coloured Fruit Bat, which in turn, left enough room for the grey crowned crane to be readded to the game as a Co-Species.
The grey crowned crane is a Co-Species in the Savannah biome and is a member of the Bird category. It is also part of The Serengeti Conservation Project along with the Lion, Plains Zebra, Cheetah, Common Ostrich, Giraffe, Black Rhinoceros, Blue Wildebeest and Fischer's Lovebird.

Trivia[]
- Despite being cut from the base game, the Grey Crowned Crane can still be seen on Zoo Tycoon: The Board Game's Bird Disease card, which was left on purpose by the developers of the board game as an easter egg.
