The King Cobra (Ophiophagus hannah) is a large Asian snake. It is an adoptable animal in Zoo Tycoon: The Board Game.
Description[]
The king cobra is the world's longest venomous snake, reaching an average length of 4m (13.1ft) and a maximum of 5.85m (19.2ft). Despite its name, it is not a true cobra, although it can raise itself off the floor and flatten the scales around its neck to form a hood, which it uses as a threat display. Young snakes are black with yellow chevrons, which fade as the snake grows.
The king cobra has a wide range across southern Asia, including India, although it is rarely seen. Its diet consists primarily of other snakes, although it will take small lizards and birds if available. Unusually for a snake, it creates a nest made of dry leaves for its eggs and the female guards her brood until they hatch. Although it has a potent venom and can cause fatalities, the king cobra, as with many snakes, avoids contact with humans.
