Trivia[]

Jeep® Trivia[]

  • The Jeep® Wrangler is based on a second generation (TJ) Rubicon model of the Wrangler, in production since 1996. The third generation (JK) that superseded it began production less than a year after the release of Endangered Species.
  • The Jeep® Liberty is based on a first generation (KJ) model of the Liberty, in production since 2001. The second generation (KK) that superseded it began production a little over a year after the release of African Adventure.
  • The Jeep® Commander was in its inaugural year as a Jeep® model when added to the game. It had only been in production for exactly four months before the release of Endangered Species.
  • Both the Jeep® Liberty and Jeep® Commander are no longer in production by Jeep®.
    • The Commander ceased production in 2010 after being deemed "unfit for human consumption" by the CEO of Chrysler (owner of Jeep®) who was baffled as to how any were sold at all. It was succeeded by the Dodge Durango.
    • The Liberty ceased production in 2012, being replaced by the Jeep® Cherokee.
  • Prior to Blue Fang's official partnership with Jeep®, beta versions of Endangered Species used generic buggies for its vehicle tours. These can be seen in promotional material and still have some unused textures in the game's files. Additionally, models for the "Four Seater" buggies can be found in the Endangered Species Demo.
    • The partial vehicles used on the Jeep® Vehicle Station are also remnants of the old vehicle models before the Jeep® sponsorship.
