The Nubian Giraffe, (Giraffa camelopardalis camelopardalis) is a critically endangered subspecies of giraffe. It is an adoptable animal in Zoo Tycoon (Xbox).
Description[]
The Nubian giraffe is a nominate subspecies of Northern Giraffe. The estimated number of Nubian giraffes in the wild is about 2,150 individuals, with about 1,500 of those individuals belonging to the Rothschild's giraffe ecotype. The Nubian giraffe is one of the most endangered giraffe populations, being classified as Critically Endangered in 2018 for the first time due to a population decline of 95% in the past three decades. If the Rothschild's giraffe is synonymous with the Nubian giraffe, it would make the Nubian giraffe one of the most common giraffe taxons in captivity, however if not, the only zoos that the Nubian giraffe is found in are the Al Ain Zoo and Giza Zoo.
