The Pale-Throated Three-Toed Sloth (Bradypus tridactylus), or simply Pale-Throated Sloth, is a small South American mammal. It is an adoptable animal in Zoo Tycoon (Xbox).
Description[]
The pale-throated sloth is one of four species of three-toed sloth. Native to the northern regions of South America, individuals can reach a body length of up to 75cm (30in) and weigh up to 6.5kg (14.3lbs), with females being larger. Like all sloths, it has long limbs with hooked claws used to hang on to branches. The pale-throated sloth can be distinguished from the very similar Brown-throated Three-toed Sloth by the pale yellow patch of fur on its throat.
The pale-throated sloth, like all members of its family, is arboreal, spending most of its life up in the trees and only coming to the ground to defecate. Well known for its slow speed, it eats leaves and twigs from only a few select species of trees and can spend up to 18 hours a day sleeping. A sloth's fur is often covered in algae, which acts as camouflage. Although slow movers in trees, they are surprisingly good swimmers.
Zoo Tycoon (Xbox)[]
The pale-throated sloth is an adoptable animal in the Xbox version of Zoo Tycoon and is available in the base game. It is available for adoption when a zoo reaches a fame level of 8.
The pale-throated sloth is a Mini-Exhibit animal and lives in the Tropical Tree mini-exhibit. It is compatible with other sloths.
