The Red Lemur (Eulemur rufus) is a small African primate. It is an adoptable animal in Zoo Tycoon (Xbox).
Description[]
The red lemur, also known as the Rufous Brown Lemur or Northern Red-Fronted Lemur, is a species of "true lemur" (genus Eulemur). Like most members of its genus, it has long, reddish-brown fur and reaches a body length of up to 48cm (19in), with its tail being slightly longer. It is distinguished by its black face, muzzle and forehead, as well as its cream-colored cheeks which are lighter in males.
Like all lemurs, the red lemur is endemic to the island of Madagascar. It lives in deciduous forests in the southwest of the island and primarily eats flowers, fruits and leaves. The red lemur has undergone several taxonomic revisions; it was originally considered to be a subspecies of the common brown lemur until 2001, then in 2008, it was split into two distinct species.
Zoo Tycoon (Xbox)[]
The red lemur is an adoptable animal in the Xbox version of Zoo Tycoon and is available in the base game. It is available for adoption when a zoo reaches a fame rating of 8.
The red lemur is a Mini-Exhibit animal and lives in the Tropical Rock mini-exhibit. It is compatible with other lemurs.
