Shellfish is a recurring food item in the Zoo Tycoon franchise, used to feed marine predators.

In Zoo Tycoon, Zookeepers will place urchins on the ground to feed the Sea Otter, exclusively.

Shellfish is a broad category of food that includes crabs, scallops, and oysters. Many marine animals, like dolphins and sea otters, make shellfish a staple of their diet, even though it takes considerable effort to free the food from its shell. Shellfish can be placed directly on the ground, or in a net buoy, substrate pile, or artificial reef.

In Zoo Tycoon 2, shellfish is a type of food item introduced in Zoo Tycoon 2: Marine Mania, eaten by all Cancrivorous animals in the game. It can only be placed in water.
