The Siberian Tiger (Panthera tigris altaica or Panthera tigris tigris) is a large Asian felid. It is an adoptable animal in Zoo Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon (Xbox).
Description[]
The Siberian Tiger is a subspecies/population of tiger. Tigers are the largest members of the cat family and are recognized by their orange coats with dark stripes. Tigers are found across Asia and are apex predators in all regions of their habitat. Their muscular bodies and powerful limbs allow them to hunt large prey like deer, wild boar and cattle, with their stripes acting as camouflage. Tigers are one of the few cats that are comfortable in water, as they are strong swimmers and often chase after prey through rivers.
The Siberian Tiger, also known as the Amur Tiger, is the largest of all the tigers. Large males can weigh over 306 kg (675 lbs) and reach lengths of over three meters long. They are native to the snowy forests of eastern Russia and as such, their fur is thicker and paler than other tigers. As with all tigers, Siberian tigers are typically solitary animals, although they are not unsociable. In the wild, they range over vast territories, with a male's territory overlapping several females.
Zoo Tycoon[]
The Siberian Tiger is an adoptable animal in Zoo Tycoon and is available in the base game. It is not available in Freeform Mode until two months have passed in-game. It is a key animal in a few scenarios, such as Saving the Great Cats.
The Siberian Tiger is a Coniferous Forest animal and likes to have lots of snow, some fresh water to swim in and a little bit of grey stone in their exhibit. They also like small hills that are 1-2 blocks high. It gives birth to two cubs at a time.
The Siberian Tiger's favorite tree is the Chinese Fir, but they also like all Deciduous and Coniferous foliage. They also like the Deciduous and Coniferous rock and a few small rocks.
Zoo Tycoon (Xbox)[]
The Siberian Tiger is an adoptable animal in Zoo Tycoon (Xbox). It is the second tiger available in-game and is unlocked after obtaining four stars.
The Siberian Tiger prefers the Alpine biome but can also tolerate the Tundra, Grasslands, and Temperate Forest biomes.
