The Sooty Owl (Tyto tenebricosa), more accurately the Greater Sooty Owl, is a Australian-Oceanian bird of prey available for adoption in Zoo Tycoon (Ultimate Animal Collection)
Description[]
The Sooty Owl is a medium to large-sized owl native to montane or eucalypt forests of south-eastern Australia and also New Guinea, although they have been seen on Flinder's Island in the Bass Strait. It can be distinguished by a white heart-shaped facial disk, dark plumage, and white speckles throughout its body.
Sooty owls make a number of different vocalizations, the most common being a short descending screech which can sound like a whistle, this call is often called the "falling-bomb whistle".
Zoo Tycoon (Xbox)[]
The Sooty Owl is an adoptable animal in Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection. It is a mini-exhibit animal that can be housed in the Bush Grove mini-exhibit. It is available once the player reaches a Zoo Fame of 16 stars.
