Fun Facts[]
- During the mating season fight the giraffes by swinging their heads and throats against each other. It happens that they swing so hard that the opponent fades after falling over.
- When the male giraffes reach sexual maturity, they form flocks consisting only of young males.
- At the age of 20, a male giraffe's skull can weigh 30 kg! A large part of this weight comes from bone deposits formed on the skull during the lifetime of the giraffe. These delays are created when the men repeatedly knock their heads against each other under the duels.
- The calves of the giraffe are very simple replacements for predators. Less than half of all calves reach adult age.
- The giraffe's heart is 60 cm long and weighs just over 11 kg.
